The Galveston Fencing Club

The Galveston Fencing Club meets most Monday evenings (except for holidays) from 7:00-8:30 PM. Beginning Monday, 3 March 2008, we will meet at the gymnasium at Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church, at 2803 53rd Street (@ Avenue U), Galveston.

Special Note: We will NOT meet on Monday, March 17th or Monday, March 24th (the Monday after Easter). We will resume our regular classes and fencing on Monday, March 31st.

Fencing and the Wizard

The Galveston Fencing Club was visited in January by local photographer Gordon Haire (two of his photos are on this page). This resulted in a brief article on page 12 of the current Galveston Wizard.

The Galveston Fencing Club offers instruction in foil, sabre and epee fencing, free to the public. Classes are structured so that a new student may begin at any time and not wait for a new session to begin..

On the weekend of December 15-16, 2007 the Galveston Fencing Club served as host to the Junior Olympics Qualifying competitions for the Gulf Coast Division of the USFA.

The Galveston Fencing Club will hold a spring tournament, the Jean Laffite Classic on Saturday, May 31st.
